According to the Banco de México, which authorizes the production of the coin by the Casa de Moneda, Victoria is actually the reverse of the coin.
The obverse side shows the coat of arms of Mexico. The new Libertad series shows the Winged Victoria at another angle, and the obverse was updated to show the coat of arms of Mexico surrounded by historical Mexican coats of arms. The original design is based on the Centenario gold Mexican coin.
